A NEW MUSICAL
Book and lyrics by Georgie Botham
Score by Joe Davies
Touring, Summer 2019
BT Studio, Oxford, June 2018

Growing up is hard. Learning to use a washing machine is harder.
This original musical, featuring a live string quartet, follows Cass and James - siblings called back to their childhood home to pack up for one last time. As they box up their old lives, tensions rise and they must confront themselves and each other about who they’ve become, the decisions that led them there, and what it means to be grown up. It’s certain to make you laugh, remember flying the nest, and check for cats next time you use the dryer.

FEST Mag
"Sibling discord and unrealised dreams produce an epic yet intimate result"
"This is a story which, with intention and wit, treats the domestic, the mundane and the emphatically personal as if the squabbles of two millennial siblings were equal to the Phantom of the Opera’s machinations. This gambit pays off, due to both its rewarding earnestness and the excellent live string quartet which accompanies the drama"
Broadway Baby
"a charming two-hander ... A promising production with youthful energy"
"... a refreshing take on coming home, moving on and growing up"
"Both Moulton and Cadman throw themselves into their performances with energy and commitment ... the sense of play between between actors is hugely enjoyable to watch"
"An ambitious and technically exposing score"
The Wee Review
"A thoughtful musical exploring family dynamics and how our life choices shape us"
"The musical numbers are enriched by the mellow string quartet, who feel a real treat for the small size of the venue"
"This is a musical with a warm heart"

"With catchy songs, witty dialogue and a heart-warming finish, this musical might just be the most fun you’ll have with a washing machine in a long time."
"The score, written by Joe Davies, was confident and matched the brooding sense of family tension well … The book, written by Georgie Botham, gave them plenty of space to play with their roles – they brought a distinctive creative energy to their characters which kept the audience hooked."
"The musical’s opening number was a particular highlight, establishing the production’s fast pace and humorous outlook from its very opening moments."
